Since the early 1960s our breed founder Kim LaFlamme has been actively trying to save First Nations dogs through selective breeding practices. As one of the closest living relatives of pre-colonial Native companions, our dogs represent the qualities that persevered in many long forgotten breeds of the Americas. Versatile and steadfast, they have the temperament needed to learn complex skills. Once given a job they thrive in any environment with enough structure and patience. From working dogs in a professional field to trusted adventure companions, they make the perfect side kick in many families across the country.

From start to finish each owner is encouraged to take full advantage of our support systems. We have an active online community full of articles, advice, and up to date photos posted by owners, volunteers, and the breed founder himself. In addition to this we like to provide you with information from other owners in your area. Not only will this help you make as decision when considering the breed but it will also give you a network of people with shared experiences and interests. With their variety of personalities and unique behaviors it is important to learn from others insights. Providing a strong foundation for training is paramount when raising this intelligent primitive breed.

Genetics, Diversity, Lineage
Through careful selection our dogs have diverse bloodlines that are often lost when creating a “pure bred” dog. This unique lineage developed over many decades and backed by genetic testing makes them one of the healthiest breeds on the planet. When selecting our breeding pairs many factors are considered in order to facilitate a match. Our number one goal is to ensure the best temperament possible. If this important criteria is met we evaluate their individual bloodlines and encourage the most diverse match, taking into account physical qualities from each parent. This gives us the best possible outcome in terms of temperament, health, and physical attributes.

If you are not currently ready but sure you would like a pup- getting on the list gives you the flexibility to bring your pup home when the time is right.
